English Rakugo Returns to Iowa
On Sunday, April 11 at 2 pm, Iowans will be entertained by Kaishi Katsura at this 2010 U.S. premier performance of RAKUGO, comic story telling with a history of 400 years in Japan. . . . almost older than the U.S.! However, we laugh at the same things.
Since laughter is known to be good for our health, Mr. Katsura definitely makes this a “pill” easy to take.
Kiyo Matsuyama is the contact person for this afternoon of G-rated hilarity.
JASI is a major sponsor of this event and members are asked to take at least 10 tickets to sell. Reserved section tickets are $25.00 each and general admission tickets are $12. Members can pick up the tickets to sell at the February and March meetings or call Kiyo.
Performance location is Indian Hills Junior High School Auditorium in Clive, which has a wonderful space and easy parking available. In addition of Mr. Katsura's performance, the amazing Taiko Drummers and Kojokan Samuri Martial Arts masters will be performing.
Rumor has it that there is a Rakugo challenge between some students and teachers. After their short performances, we, the audience, will decide the winner.
It is going to be an exciting Sunday afternoon. . . Not to missed!
