Membership
Dear Potential Members:
The Japan America Society of Iowa (JASI) is a Not-for-Profit 501(c)(3) unincorporated, non-political voluntary association. The JASI Chapter was formed in 1989 to promote friendly international relations, cultural activities of interest to members, and mutual understanding between the people of the United States and Japan.
One of the great rewards of being a part of our society is our events. The following events are underway in 2009.
The City of Des Moines, Iowa and Kofu, Yamanashi, Japan will celebrate their 50th Anniversary. The Greater Des Moines Sister City Commission and the Iowa Sister States are planning a series of celebrations and special events to recognize the milestone of their relationship.
Participation in the Annual Iowa Asian Heritage Festival in May.
The Annual New Year Potluck Luncheon in January.
The monthly general meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, except the months of July and August. We always have great topics to discuss and members receive a monthly newsletter.
The Japan America Society of Iowa exists only through the dedication and support of patrons like yourself. Together we can move forward into our 20th Anniversary in December 2009 and social enrichment to the state of Iowa and understanding of Japanese culture.
If you have any questions, please give me a call at (515) 468-1993 or e-mail me at info@japaniowa.org
Sincerely,
Mayumi Ameku
